what is NGO? N-non, G-government, O-organization. so NGO mans non-government organization.
i read a magazine about NGO recently. the article tells about 100 NGO programme in China. most of them are in very poor areas. the programmes aim to the fringe group like minority, homosexual people, people who have AIDS or cancer and children in poverty. people who set up these programme are trying to help others, some of them are volunteers, and some get low paid.
i think maybe everyone is responsible to the whole society. we are trying to get a better education, a high paid job, a bigger apartment, but we should spare some time to think about how to help those people who don't a chance to get education, who are out of work or have no place to live. because of the poor external factor, they can't develop on their own and that's why they need help.
so, maybe it's time for me to return something to the society. sometimes, volunteer work is a magnificant choice. what do you say?
