One of my former students has been to Beijing to be volunteers for the Olympics. What an honour!

He was once best students in English. He likes English very much. Everyday he listened to English radio programs, Watched English TV and original films and so on. He took active part in any English activity, Although he was not in English department, but the English teachers all like him. And his English may be the best in his university.

That is the passion. I once told him that his English has been better than I. Because I have no time to touch English, even though I am now teaching English. That's quite different.

So interst and passion are very important when you learn a foreign language. And also you  should practice it everyday.
