An increasing number of people are probing the method to learn better English to meet the needs of the enrollment, employment or promotion standard, etc. However, language, as a tool, is hard to be defined a concrete justification that can judge anyone’s language ability. Thus, methods of learning better English are listed below in two aspects from the point of purpose. It is a result- oriented society that is abundant of benefit- oriented people. Numerous English examinations are now listed prerequisites for studying overseas, working in foreign co operations, even survive in dynamic competitions. A good score is indispensable and thus represents one’s language ability. From this point of view, a good score is not a tough piece. My advice can be listed below:l      Find out what the examinations focus on. For example, toefl, ielts, are more concentrating on test-takers’ overall language ability while CET 4, 6 lay stronger emphasis on vocabulary and matching of words.l      Check out where your weaknesses hide. For instance, in terms of CET 6, your reading is fine as well as your listening. However, your vocabulary is a nightmare and you are exhausted to recite millions of words.l      Reveal your pain. The phenomenon is quite prevailing that one is inclined to do the job he/ she is adequate to do. However, I call this kind of behavior ‘coward’. Only dared to challenge yourself can you one day surpass.l      Doing model examinations again and again. The examination atmosphere and circumstances are very crucial to your condition on the day of the test. To avoid being nervous and abnormal, reviewing pre- examinations is necessary.l      Be yourself, and be confident.Turning next to the other kind of people that really love the language of English, I would respect them. This kind of love and pursuit is the guarantee of good language. Frequent exposure to the English- speaking atmosphere, the native speakers at best, is the most efficient way to improve the sense of language. Meanwhile, foreign movies with beautiful accent and pronunciation would help your listening as soon as possible. So just pick up the movie you favor. It is really hard to define whether one’s English ability is good or not. I would just say, it is sufficient or not and depends on various occasions. English to me is just a tool. What I have done is just making efforts to master this tool. And I hope sincerely, so will you!

You are quite right, as an advanced learner in English.I suddenly realized that it is merely a tool which might not always guarantee a well-paid job as there are more people showing excellent ability. I had better pick up some other skills
