I think I’m getting greener and greener now. The latest action is getting a bicycle and go two-wheels, instead of four-wheels.  Well, technically I didn’t drive much before. I don’t have a car. But from time to time I will use my parents’ car to drive around. You may have known, from my previous blogs, that I’m now a strong “going green” advocate, and I’ve been constantly thinking about how to do more every day.  Getting the bicycle isn’t a new idea. Wanted to do that for some time but never got around to do it. The recent oil price surge is prob. the direct drive for me to change my travel method. It’s not that we can’t afford it, but it’s just not worth it, esp. when you’re the only one in the car. Plus, it’s the opposite of off-setting our CO2 embission. Why burning petrol just to go to the supermarket? Why not ride there? Lastly the road from where I live to my shop recently has been re-paved and there’s a lane for bicycles especially. Everything seems to tell me: get a bike! But tell you the truth, getting a bike here is not cheap. Sarah told me bikes are very cheap in China and the price I paid for mine will get THREE same bikes in China. The helmet cost a lil more too. I wish I can get it from China. But Sarah told me that interestingly ppl in China are opting for cars over bikes. That’s the total opposite of what’s happening here! Sarah’s family used to have 3 bikes, one for each, but now have 0. Her dad bought a car last year and joined the army of car-owners which grows by thousands and thousands every single day in China. What a picture it can be! No, I don’t want to picture it. It’s frightening and sad in a way.  Anyways, gotta go now. My neighbour wants to check out my bike and is thinking about getting one herself. This is a much nicer picture. J
