The first international English competition held by the English Salon Magazine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the British Council English Online is now underway.

The aim of the competition is to exchange Chinese and British culture and to develop English as a core skill in today's international world.

The first round of the competition will be based on writing and the contestants will be required to write an article outlining their views on the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics.
