Today I went to see a movie with Mum. She never said she wanted to see any movie in the cinema, so i'm glad that she said she wanted to see this movie named Assembly (http://assembly.hbpictures.com/english/index.html ).

It was a story about war, also a story about humanism. Very touchy. Mum and I both cried, several times.

The virtues of this movie come in many way -- about bravery, about taking care of fellow soldiers without reservation, about sticking to the belief that you can change misbelief... Also, it's based on true stories during the civil war 1945-1949 (and beyond). There's also a strong message about how cruel and ruthless war can be and, in contrast, how selfishless and generous human relationship can be. The moive left us a striking impression. (We were also impressed this director, a master of comedy, did quite well for such a war movie.)

All in all, I think some virtues born by the characters, especially the perseverance (执着、认真) is something not very common now around us in China. I reckon this movie did a good job in reminding us all of these virtues in today's society.
