I think what brown sugar said about American reputation tarnished is because during Bush's administration he innitiated the war in Iraq on the account that Iraq had "mass destruction weapons" which turned out to be wrong, as well as setting up Guantanamo Bay prison which many believe is against the international human rights... and of course there is this financial crisis and economic slowdown which many think is another "American failure".
I remember as a kid everyone in school wore poppies and we used to observe a 2-minute silence at 11 am to reflect on those who gave their lives in the first (and second) world wars. Everything used to stop – apparently even public transport would grind to a halt in the olden days to ensure absolute silence was observed. I like the idea of using silence as a way to help us remember people and events which have shaped our history and I wish we were more used to practising it.
Well, I'd say when you use the swearing word, you'll really need to be careful with whom you're talking with. In general, it's regarded rude -- that's the bottom line. And, it's certainly not soemthing "cool".
As I have a shoe shop of my own, I'd like to know what's the top 3 factors you consider when you buying shoes? ... as a "market research" for myself...
Thanks in advance for replying...
Your story is short but there are so many hidden stories -- "spendt the entire weekend with him for a weird reason", "where we encountered many people we don't wanna meet", " we are living in different worlds now"...
