I just saw on the news that today marks the 40th anniversary of the invention of mouse! (It's the mouse with the computer that I'm talking about, not any regular mouse, or Mickey Mouse!)

Today, there's one news dominating the headline here in the UK -- the State Opening of the Parliament by the Queen.
Yesterday 11 Nov is the annual Rememberance Day as it's called in most Commonwealth countries and the Veteran Day as it's called in the US. This year is special because it marks the 80th annniversary of the end of 1918's World War 1 so there's quite a media coverage on this day.
In case you don’t know what a poppy is, look at this picture I found from a website:
The latest Bond film Quantum Of Solace had its premiere in Leicester Square in London this Wednesday night. My craze about the Bond movies drew me to the Leiscester Square for this rare opportunity to see the real Bond!
Before you know it, the next Bond film is around the corner. Now you can see ads about it everywhere on the media in the UK. After all, James Bond is a British chracter. If you can get it right in the UK, where else??? I must say, like it or not, it's a very successful commercial campaign.
I saw Olivia asking a few questions about the current financial crisis in her blog. I have to say I don’t much about that topic either, but I do learn quite a few new words from this crisis by watching TV everyday. Shall we say someone’s loss (in the market) is someone else’s gain (in learning English)? :p
Today at work I came across something... funny but tricky. It was in the afternoon before we, i.e. my colleague Irene, our boss and myself, had this meeting with a potential client, big one. Because this is potentially a very big business for us, we -- at least Irene and I felt really daunting even when thinking of meeting the CEO of this company. The meeting went well and I left after my section was over. Just when I said bye to everyone else that would continue the meeting and left my seat, I saw, accidentally, that Den didn't zip his trousers well!
